SIMULATION RESULT

TAMPA BAY 6, NY YANKEES 3

The Tampa Bay Rays are struggling and our simulation process knows that but the simulation picks the Rays to win only their second game in their last seven tries. The key in this one was the fact that starting pitcher Matt Moore was able to hold the Yankees batting lineup to only three runs. He lasted a very decent 6.1 innings of work, allowed only 6 hits and struck out 5 batters along the way. Freddy Garcia continued to be horrible and lasted only 5.2 innings allowing 5 ER's, walking 4 batters and striking out only 2. BJ Upton broke out of his mini slump and hit a 2-Run Home Run in the 3rd inning and Jeff Keppinger drove in two runs. Moore did a great job against the Yankees lineup and he has been one of their most solid pitchers over the course of the last couple of weeks. The Yankees had won 9 of 10 on the road coming in but they always struggle at the Trop and the Rays find a way tow in.

PLAY: Tampa Bay Rays ML -121

PLAYER OF THE GAME: BJ Upton (Tampa Bay) 3-5, HR, 3 RBI, 2B, 3R

SIMULATION RESULT

OAKLAND 5, BOSTON 3

The Boston Red Sox got away with one yesterday but our simulation doesn't see it happening two days in row. The Red Sox beat Seattle in 10 innings yesterday but apart from Dustin Pedroia their bats are still dormant and it showed once again in this game. Oakland starter Jarrod Parker was outstanding once again going 7.0 innings, allowing 5 hits and only 2 ER's. Daisuke Matsuzaka was decent for Boston lasting 6.2 innings, allowing 7 hits and 4 ER's but he allowed some big hits with runners in scoring position which nullified a lot of the work he did against this Oakland lineup. The A's had some help from the top of their lineup as Coco Crips and Jemile Weeks each got on base three times and Weeks managed to steal 2 bases. It was an overall team effort for the A's who also got two hits from Brandon Inge, including a 2-Run Home Run in the 6th inning that put this game on ice for the A's. Parker with another hot start, Oakland wins.

PLAY: Oakland Athletics ML -107

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Jemile Weeks (Oakland) 2-4, 2B, 3 R, 2 SB

SIMULATION RESULT

CINCINNATI 4, LA DODGERS 3

The LA Dodgers got off the snide last night in a big win over the New York Mets but it didn't come without the help of...the Mets themselves who committed a ton of errors and pretty did themselves in by allowing 6 Earned Runs and losing 8-3. This time around however the Dodgers won't have much success against Homer Bailey and company. Bailey did not have a great outing here allowing 3 ER's in 6.0 innings of work but the bullpen shut the door from there and he got enough from the bats to put this one away late. The game was tied 3-3 and both Bailey and Dodgers started Chad Billingsley had been chased when Joey Votto hit a solo shot in the 8th inning and the door was shut from there. Votto had his typical big game when the team needed it going 3 for 4 with the Home Run and he scored two runs. Votto missed the game against the Giants on Sunday but should be back in action tonight and was included in the simulation.

PLAY: Cincinnati Reds ML -102

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Joey Votto (Cincinnati) 3-4, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R
